3 Steps to Resolving Filming Issues for Dishwashers

There may be many outside factors that may lead to an appearance of poor cleaning of a dishwasher. Filming, or a cloudy white residue left on dishes may be blamed on 3 different factors. The first is to check the water temperature at the sink closest to the machine. Water should be near 120*, this is essential to activate the phosphates in today’s soaps. Running the sink till its hot than starting the machine is an easy fix.

The second is to check your waters hardness and if any water softener is needed. Very hard water will cause you have to adjust your detergent to water ratio…which leads us to the third point which is to check what type of detergent used. Be sure to use a detergent that dissolves completely, pre-measured gel packs work best at the proper ratio is set. Soap that doesn’t dissolve will be left on dishes which results in filming.
